Meet Dr Isabel McLean

MBBS(Melb), FRANZCO

Dr Isabel McLean is also locally known as the lady eye doctor. Isabel was born in country Victoria. After finishing high school Isabel moved to Melbourne and graduated in medicine from the University of Melbourne. Isabel was a General Practitioner for over 10 years and this gives her a broader understanding of people’s health issues. The change to Ophthalmology took a great deal of commitment and Isabel was rewarded with a training position at the world-renowned Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne. Isabel found the ophthalmology training to be a wonderful experience.

As a country girl Isabel planned to live and work in a regional centre. After looking at various locations in Victoria and Queensland, Isabel happily chose Bundaberg and enjoys being part of the local community.

Apart from general eye health, Isabel has a number of areas of special interest. These include cataract surgery, macular degeneration, glaucoma, eyelid surgery and therapeutic Botox injections. Dr Isabel McLean provides a high-quality comprehensive ophthalmology service to the Bundaberg and Burnett region.
